Neighbourhood Caring

My crafting maybe on hold a few days...

We have a 76 year old man next door and he has no family and has lived alone there since ???  many, many years. He always walked everywhere and walked home. The day before yesterday, he went out walking, as usual. But, this time some one had rang a taxi for him as he was very unsteady on his feet. She bought him home and we kept an ear out to see if he was ok.

Yesterday we had not heard him at all and we were very worried as to why not so I asked Ross to ring the police to come around to check if he was ok. He was found in a very poor state and no food, no heating and one very small thin blanket and they rang the ambulance to come to get him and take him to the hospital. He was a very "set in his ways" person and wouldn't let anyone help him, until yesterday!

I have rang the hospital and he is doing a little better today but he will need 24 hour care when he leaves the hospital and they will find a nursing home for him. We are now looking after his 60 year old cockatoo until we find out what has to be done with him.

I will get back to my crafting as soon as all this is sorted out, probably in the next few days.

I am so glad Ross rang the police when he did as who knows what would of happened to him if we took no notice of this.

Thanks for understanding!

Simple Gift Box Kit coming soon!

Tonight I sat and made this simple Gift Box. I still have to make the cards to go in it (probably after my grand kids go home tomorrow) and then I will have to make up the tutorial for this set.

I am also going to be starting to make up my own  "Kits in the Mail"  for you to buy so keep an eye out for these coming up soon. This set may even go into the Kits so if you like it, you will be able to buy it aswell.

Sneak Peaks of the Gift Box...

Gift Box - Sneak Peeks

I have made this box using Pumpkin Pie card stock, but, if you prefer a different colour that would be fine. It will also apply when I make the cards up for this set and I will use Pumpkin Pie with those too. Change what ever you want with any of my tutorials, but please  do not  remove my copyrights from my tutorials, thanks.

I have a few tutorials in my right hand sidebar under the FOR SALE link. Hope you find something in them you like.

Thanks for Looking!

Janelle’s Questions and My Answers

Janelle - Do you have a stampin’ up ink caddy, how do you store your inks, upside or up the right way?

MeYes I do have one and I keep my ink pads up the right way as the ink pad is already upside down when you close it. Hope this makes sense.

I sent Janelle this photo to show her…

100_2232

Janelle  - Thanks for that. Have you got your own scrap / stamp room?

Me  - Yes sort of.  It’s a spare room that I keep my craft stuff in and all I have to do is take out what I need for workshops etc onto the verandah as it very close to it.

Janelle  - Have you ever made a box in a bag? I’m making one now.

Me  - I made a few ages ago... they are very easy to make.

I think I put some cards in one. You can put a small gift in them or some chocolates etc for a gift for someone.

I then sent Janelle some links, you can find them in my Archives/Categories in the links under the banner on my blog.

Janelle  - Thanks there very pretty. Is there anything you haven’t done? LOL

Me  -  LOL still working on it. I try EVERYTHING  you should know that about me by now :P

Janelle  - Do you keep what you make? Do you ever make mistakes?

Me  Yes I have kept a lot of what I make but running out of room!  Must figger out how to sell them, maybe on my blog, not sure yet. OMG YES I have made a lot of mistakes in my work over the years but, it all adds to the learning process I think, so it is in my opinion, it's a good thing to make mistakes and learn from them.

Janelle  - Have you got  a rose is a rose? Do you like 2 step stampin?

Me  - Yes I have and I love it.  Here's a few I used that set with..

I then sent Janelle some links.

Me   -   Hey, if you ever want to see what I have made... click on the ARCHIVES/CATEGORIES  just under the banner on my blog and just remember, I WILL help you as much as I can.

Janelle  -  I’ll have to check all that out.

I’ve been looking through your blog I’m not finished yet. Here are my favourites:

April – first purse

May – double pocket bag, baroque motifs, vintage style creations

June – tag card

August – tart and tangy

Sept – breast cancer 2

Oct – faux woodgrain

Nov – xmas lights outstanding

Dec – calendar, bookmark, scallop set altogether is fantastic

Feb 2009 – bib card is so cute, Keesh’s colour challenge is gorgeous.

Me  -  Thanks, glad you like them.  Here's ALL the links to find what I have made, Enjoy!!  If you need help let me know.

Me  -   I'm glad you found some project you like, and have fun looking through my blog. Actually, I do appreciate your interest in my work and I am happy to answer any question I can and I will answer honestly. Thanks.

If anyone else wants to ask me any questions, I'd be happy to answer them as long as it's about me (not too personal) and my creativity. Thanks.

You will also get the Ribbons, Buttons and Brads and all the Stickers aswell. These Kit are great if you like using stickers and/or if you need a card in a hurry, they are so simple to make and take no time at all to put together. You can also buy the Stamp Set that is on the same page as this set in the catalogue or use different stamps to your own liking.

Here is the photo of the Instruction sheet from the kit and also the cards I have made from them.

Playful Petals

I've made this card using the stamp set called "Playful Petals". I have also layered the flower sections for a 3D affect using Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the leaves and cut them out and randomly placed the around the underneath of the flowered layers. I used Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Whisper White card stocks.

Inks I used are Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel and Pumpkin Pie to colours the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves.

Then I punched 3 holes and placed a Silver Brad in each one and using Dimensionals, placed it at the bottom of the card and stamped Thank You using StazOn Black ink.

2 Similar but Different

I thought I better post something tonight as I will have my 3 year old grandson tomorrow and Thursday as his Mum and fiance have to pack so they can move on the weekend and it's really hard to find time to do any crafting while he is here. So I hope you will like the cards I made tonight.

I've made 2 cards using the same stamp set but I also used 2 different techniques. The first one is Spotlighting which makes the part of the stamped image look like it's raised from the image underneath  and the second one is using Crystal effects which actually makes the stamped image look like it's made of glass, or that's how it looks to me.

Spotlighting   Crystal effects

Recipe:-

Stamps:- Inspired by Nature.

Card Stock:- Old Olive, Close to Cocoa and Whisper White.

Inks and Markers:- Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Garden Green and Ruby Red.

Accessories:- Crystal Effects, Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive and Scallop Punch.

Ribbon & Brads:- 1/4 " Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, 3 Silver Brads.
